As 2025 comes to an end, it's time to reflect on a transformative year for Insurwave and the specialty insurance market at large. In an environment defined by evolving geopolitical tensions, escalating climate risks, and the continued acceleration of AI-driven innovation, insurers have faced mounting pressure to enhance operational efficiency whilst maintaining rigorous risk assessment standards.

This year, we welcomed new leadership, Adrian Morgan, former CEO of Mission Underwriters and Premal Gohil, former Head of Corporate Development at Beazley, signalling our commitment to strategic growth and operational excellence. We've also expanded our market presence with significant client wins, including Westfield and Allianz, while earning recognition through the Insurtech Top 50, National Insurance Awards, and Insurtech 100 2025.

Through strategic partnerships with Target Markets Group, Instech, and MGAA, alongside substantial platform enhancements spanning marine, aviation, and property lines, we've continued to deliver on our mission: empowering insurers with real-time, dynamic exposure monitoring and AI-powered data ingestion capabilities that transform how the market assesses and manages dynamic risk.

Read on to discover the key developments that defined our year.

Platform Updates

Exposure Monitoring

Dynamic exposure calculations now visualised on the risk map

Our system now automatically calculates exposure for each policy within a selected zone, factoring in policy aggregates that apply and adjusting the figure based on the policy’s line share. You'll also see the total exposure for the entire zone, ensuring a clear and accurate view of your risk.

Historic Aviation exposure extract

You can now request an extract with the list of aircraft and their total insured values for a historic point in time - directly from the risk map for any zone. This means greater flexibility and deeper insights into past exposure, helping you make more informed decisions with ease.

The extract generated will detail all aircraft within the requested zone at the requested time and date, provided the aircraft transmitted a position within the 12 hours leading up to the requested time.

We’ve also made several performance changes with scalability in mind, specifically to accommodate larger asset portfolios such as Property, Terror, Marine Liability & Marine Cargo. These changes include:

  • Optimised rendering speeds: View over 100,000 assets within seconds.
  • Dynamic asset loading: The Risk Map now loads relevant details as you zoom in and out, improving efficiency and user experience.

Marine exposure extract now includes line share percentage

Marine exposure extracts now feature the line share percentage, enabling underwriters and exposure managers to report more accurately on their exposure positions for a given set of marine assets within a zone.

Submission Ingestion

Submission ingestion service for marine lines of business

The Submission Ingestion Platform now supports Marine Cargo, Marine Liability, and Fine Art and Specie lines of business.

This launch extends our proven ingestion capability—already established in Property and Terror—to the Marine portfolio. It enables underwriters to ingest, cleanse, extract, enrich, and standardise submission data through a fully automated process that delivers information in a structured, consistent format.

The result is high-quality, accurate, and reliable data that underwriters can trust. Each submission generates a standardised profile offering real-time insights to support confident underwriting decisions.

The platform also integrates seamlessly with downstream systems such as Verisk and Katrisk, minimising manual effort and enabling a lean, automated underwriting workflow.

Product Update New Lines of Business

New extraction capability for secondary modifiers

This release introduces new secondary modifier extraction and enrichment capabilities within the Submission Ingestion Platform. The platform now captures a broad range of secondary modifiers from SOVs, including roof type, wall, foundation, floor, fire resistance, sprinkler systems, and contents damageability, and more.

This advancement enables Insurwave AI to deliver a more complete and accurate property data set, enriching secondary modifier information to enhance catastrophe modelling accuracy, strengthen risk assessment, and support more informed underwriting decisions.

Westfield Announcement

Insurwave played a pivotal role in supporting Westfield Specialty Insurance International's Exposure Management Transformation programme, a comprehensive 12-month initiative that has modernised the specialty insurer's catastrophe modelling and exposure management capabilities.

Working as the technology partner for submission processing and data integration, Insurwave's AI-driven platform served as the gateway for Westfield's automated submission-to-quote workflow, enabling the extraction, standardisation, and enrichment of submission data for downstream catastrophe modelling, flood modelling, and pricing systems.

This transformation demonstrates how AI-driven automation is enabling specialty insurers to achieve operational excellence while meeting Lloyd's market expectations for modern technology adoption.

Allianz Announcement Partnerships

In November, Allianz, one of the world's leading general insurers, selected Insurwave to transform its aviation accumulation management.

As the aviation insurance market continues to evolve, Allianz recognised the need for advanced technology solutions to manage complex, global portfolios in real-time.

Through our platform, Allianz can now:

  • Track assets in real-time: Continuous monitoring of aviation assets via our Flightradar24 integration, with historic trail visibility over the past 12 months.
  • Monitor zone-based exposures live: Instant visibility into TIV and exposure across countries, airports, blast zones, and LSW-617-H zones, with breakdowns by policy and signed lines.
  • Respond to events faster: Real-time alerts and portfolio insights enabling proactive risk management

This partnership represents a significant step forward in bringing dynamic risk management to aviation insurance, and we're excited to support Allianz in managing its portfolio more efficiently and effectively.
