About the Role

The Content Writer is a critical role to our Marketing and Content strategies. You’ll be part of a small, but growing, creative team, where you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact as an early team member. We are a startup with great tech and we know it. You’ll be responsible for crafting our brand voice. You’ll help develop core positioning and messaging. Then partnering closely with the Content Director and Sales, and Design, you will create a robust content plan to help spread the word about the narrative you’ve developed. You’ll be the voice of the customer, authoring all marketing materials (top of funnel through lower funnel) to ensure messaging consistency, and that your witty voice comes through. 

Key responsibilities

  • Strategic crafting of brand and product messaging
  • Copywriting on a range of content, mostly marketing focused, from awareness (press releases, digital content, infographics, website) to demand generation (targeting high conversion) to sales acceleration (custom content by industry and/or client)
  • Be creative! Partner with the Content Director for the always-on strategy, as well as finding new ways to reach a niche audience
  • Partner closely with Sales and Product teams to research and understand the voice of the customer and how Insurwave solves customer problems
  • Review Marketing and Sales content for messaging consistency

Team Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the content marketing strategy for brand, product and growth
  • Develop content plan by industry for each persona
  • Oversee content creation, governance, and operations
  • Oversee content measurement plan and optimization
  • Develop the dashboards and metrics to show effectiveness
  • Ideate new ways to reach specialty insurance buyers
  • Develop a framework to scale content creation – how do we approach story-telling on multiple platforms, through multiple mediums, in an efficient manner?

Skills & experience required

  • Specialty Insurance experience preferred, but not required
  • 7+ years of experience creating marketing and sales content in a B2B (preferably insurance) environment. 
  • Examples of high impact content from previous work
  • Strong working knowledge of brand, SEO, social media, design, digital and offline marketing
  • Broad range of experience from press releases to ad and email copy to keynote presentations
  • Work well with creatives, technical personalities, and the C-suite
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling messaging and visuals
  • Experience building content programs from the ground up
  • Strong editorial skills
  • High standards for quality
  • Be forward thinking and innovative
